We ask our Guests to send us their honest comments about the villa and Kalkan.
Our week went very well indeed thank you. It is a lovely villa and the weather was just great. One of the main advantages of the villa was its layout, the inside and outside space merged beautifully and the practical touches, such as the fan over the table on the patio and fitted mosquito screens on all of the external doors gave the feeling that everything had been considered to make it as comfortable as possible. The balconies were another great feature as they could be accessed from all of the bedrooms directly and they had so much space, were well furnished (including two sunbeds on the first floor balcony) and had fabulous views. The Ottoman area on the second floor is fabulous and very Turkish. The property is South facing and therefore gets the sun all day but it was always possible to be in the shade by angling the sun parasols and sunbeds, a dip in the pool is always available when you really need to cool down! Villa Barinak has everything you need for an escape to the sun and more. The layout of the villa and equipment throughout is exceptional. The kids enjoyed their own rooms but liked to meet up on their adjoining balcony.
The rooftop Ottoman area was my favourite part of the villa. If you can see yourself lying on a huge cushioned area with a cooling breeze, sea views and sipping on the tipple of your desire then this is the place for you. Having kids to fetch your choice of refreshment will be a bonus!
Obviously to get sea views you have to be high up the hill. The upside apart from the views was the 15 minute stroll downhill to the town. However this is not long enough to decide which restaurant to dine in as there are dozens of fine restaurants. The downside would be the walk back if we had actually done it but we always got a taxi back (Just under £5)
Our taxi transfers (Organised by Villa management) were spot on. It means you can start your holiday on the plane without having to be concerned about your transfer. They were comfortable, punctual and professional. On arrival the driver went and called the caretaker who came immediately to let us in. He was available 24/7 should you require his services or advice.
Finally, we have been fortunate enough to travel to many parts of the world and stayed in various forms of accommodation. Villa Barinak has the 'Wow' factor. From the pool area to the rootop it is spacious and luxurious. You will not be disappointed. MS May 2010
Well we're back and thoroughly depressed that its over! We had an amazing holiday - thanks very much for all your help. The villa is just gorgeous and everyone was very helpful. It all went very smoothly and we'd definitely recommend the villa and Kalkan to our friends. SD May 2010
We had a great time & found Kalkan so relaxing & the food so much better than many places we have been. The villa had everything we needed & more. The views from the upstairs windows fantastic even when it rained for a short while.I will recommend Kalkan & the villa to anyone. Looking forward to our next visit. HE September 2009
I thought I'd write and let you know what a wonderful holiday we've just had at Villa Barinak! We arrived around 7am and Chloe couldn't wait to try the pool so I opened up the suitcases on the patio and she changed and got straight in for a refreshing dip! She pretty much stayed in the pool the whole holiday, she loved it! We had a good look round the villa and were taken aback by the breathtaking views from the master bedroom especially, views from all the rooms are amazing but the master suite is something very special. After unpacking we had a bit of a sleep and then the holiday really began. We hired a jeep from the Thursday after deciding that due to the heat a lot of walking up and down the hills might be a bit much and we wanted to explore further afield without having to use taxis, the jeep was great fun once we got used to the Turkish driving, quite a fright the first time on the main roads but we mastered it. First trip out was to Patara beach, a most incredible experience, what an amazing place.
The villa had everything we needed and more and we made full use of all the facilities. We stayed by the pool all day (or part of the day if we were elsewhere exploring) in and out of the water to keep cool and once the sun moved off the lower patio we spent our early evenings on the ottoman reading and playing cards till sunset with a couple of vodka and tonics!
We hired a boat for the day complete with Captain just for ourselves, that was a most amazing experience, Chloe got to do a bit of the driving so she loved that, and the views were spectacular, lunch was delicious and Chloe went snorkling with Steve for the first time which was wonderful. We had a mixture of BBQs, takeaways and fabulous meals down in the harbour, our favourite being Ilyada, excellent food and service. A fairly new place that has opened not far from the villa Park Kalkan, we ate there one evening when they had a guitarist/singer, lovely place again excellent food and service in there, all the people in the restaurants and bars were incredibly friendly especially kind to Chloe. We also went to the market on Thursday and did some gift shopping for friends and family, it was hot though and we were glad to get back to the villa after some yummy pancakes on the way back and straight into the lovely pool.
Steve visited the local barber Memet every other day for his shave and a beer with the locals, by doing so we managed to get all sorts of tips on where to go to find the real beauty spots that aren't common knowledge to everyone and we did find the most amazing place following a very rough ride to get there, but it was worth it, attached piccies we took, Chloe looking out from the peaceful otoman looking at the views.
To sum up a fabulous holiday we'll never forget, lovely people, so friendly and accommodating, fantastic food and such a variety, lovely quirky little streets full of nice shops and I have to say the most relaxing holiday I've ever had, I read 6 books, a very good sign. We're planning our next trip already and have decided to go at spring time (easter holidays) so we can explore further without the soaring August temperatures. Many thanks again for everything. LM August 2009
We have had an excellent holiday in this lovely villa. It was one of the best we have stayed in; it was extremely well equipped and very comfortable indeed, with lots of space both inside and out. The management and cleaning service was excellent and the owner's help in organising transfers etc was great. The whole family loved this holiday, and we will certainly want to return. Many thanks! CB August 2009
Thank you very much for letting us have your lovely villa for our hols. It is wonderful place and Kalkan is a delight. The Turkish people are so friendly it made our stay even more enjoyable.Omar is a great manager , nothing was ever too much. As for the restaurants, they are all so good we were spoilt for choice. on our last day we asked our children if there was any negatives they could think of, after a brain wracking 2 mins they said" absolutely not". I would recommend your villa to all our friends as everything to do with our hols was fantastic. TM August 2009
The holiday was fantastic as always, the villa didn’t lack anything and was very comfortable, Omer and the people on site were very good and provided non intrusive help as and when we needed. All of the logistics worked like clockwork. Kalkan itself remains magical and even after 5 visits still retains that certain something that makes us want to return yet again. The food was fantastic with the normal restaurants delivering food to a very high standard which included The Olive Garden, Sofra, Aubergine and Salt and Pepper. Had a great day out on the boat and went diving so all in all brilliant. We all look forward to returning again. PC July 2009
The villa is lovely and very well equipped, it's very comfortable and has stunning views. I loved the ottoman especially. Omar was very helpful, but not intrusive. The cleaners were great too. The Can Can supermarket down the road is brilliant and the chap even whipped in to town to get some stamps for us when he had run out - wouldn't get that in England!! We loved all the visiting cats and rightly or wrongly we did feed them - we're a bit soft because we have 4 cats at home! Kalkan remains fab and we were remembered by many of the people in the restaurants we had visited last year. Kaya has to be our favourite eatery - Kadir, Erol and Alper are so friendly - "our home is your home" - and the food is superb (the Kaya steak - mmmmm). We're not fans of the more European/Cosmopolitan restaurants closer to the marina, but its nice to have the choice. The walk in to town from the villa is very pleasant and took us about 20 minutes (leisurely pace). I hope we will visit Kalkan again - it is such a lovely place and Villa Barinak is a perfect home from home. JN July 2009
I’d like to share, with those who are interested in a quality time holiday, our experience in Kalkan and especially in Barinak villa.
After a long journey (we came by car (from Romania)) it opened in the right side of the way a breathtaking view, those two bays of Kalkan. When we arrived at the villa we found a real “shelter”, the name is perfect for this place. It was one of the few experiences when we found in a place exactly what we expected; the presentation of the villa is very accurate.
If you enjoy a holiday with discos and clubs, Kalkan is not the place for you, but if you like a beautiful, quiet, elegant, with friendly people and excellent services place where you can feel like home, Kalkan and especially Barinak villa is definitely the proper place.
We felt in Barinak villa like in our home, Susan provided everything you may need, we only had to think of something and we found there, starting with Omer and his team who took care of the villa and made us feel no stress at all. We were very pleased to find there many simple thing we didn’t expect but who means a lot when you have them (like water supply for dispenser, loo paper, charcoal for barbeque, the food on arrival, a cold bottle of wine and ice cubes in the fridge ……….. and I let you to discover the others by yourself )
Do not understand that is a boring place because there are three beautiful beaches close by (Kalkan, Kaputas and Patara), you must visit Saklikent (is a life time experience), if you are interested in ancient history you can visit many places of ancient Likya, you may take a whole day long cruise (the captain will prepare you lunch on the boat), you can visit Kas, Fethiye and OluDeniz, believe me, in two weeks we never had the time to be bored.
Barinak is the perfect place for us, try it, you may find out that is the perfect place for you, too. LS June 2009
Thank you for our stay at your villa, it was lovely, especially the ottoman area at the top with lovely views. And you have thought of everything anyone would want. AS June 2009
We are just back from a fabulous holiday in Kalkan. Villa Barinak is fantastic and surpassed all our expectations as it was ideal for our family holiday with three generations who all enjoyed it immensely. We loved having lots of space and made good use of the private pool and enjoyed floating about on the pool lilos. In the evenings we had our pre dinner drinks watching the sun setting across the harbour from the very authentic ottoman area on the roof top. We took a boat trip from the harbour with Yildiz which was a fantastic day out with excellent food and friendly service. In all a very enjoyable holiday and we would love to come back next year. Thankyou so much. M&LO May 2009
The villa was superb, one of the best we have stayed in! And as ever, Omer and his team were fantastic and could never do enough to help. We loved the Ottoman area and the layout of the place is really good - large spacious rooms which would comfortably suit 6/8 people without feeling on top of each other. Very clean and well equipped too! We definately hope to return to Kalkan again very soon and if we are with friends or family would make your villa the first stop! ZC October 2008
Superb villa, did not want to leave. Lots of time spent on the top
terrace enjoying the view. Couldn't decide which bedroom to use until
we saw the view from the top, it was worth the extra flight of stairs.
Omer and staff were wonderful, attentive but not intrusive. We have
decided not to try any other resorts in Turkey as Kalkan is the best.
Although the villa in Ovecik was lovely, the village was not to the same
standard as Kalkan. Hope to return, this is the fourth villa we have
tried in Kalkan and is the best.

You cannot fail to fall in love with this beautiful fishing town, from the moment you come over the hill, and look down on Kalkan. Having driven for nearly 2 hours (slight navigation problems!) we found the villa quite easily and fell in love again. It is a beautifully appointed comfortable home with breathtaking views and we spent some lazy, fun evenings on the Ottoman watching the twinkling lights in the distance. The locals were friendly but not pushy and Omer (our caretaker) took care of all our needs and was a fount of knowledge. The car hire was simple and faultless and we enjoyed a number of trips in, what can only be described, as a fascinating and picturesque part of the world. It is not often we have been able to say that there is nothing we would change but this is one of those rare occasions. Kalkan is a delight and Villa Barinak a little bit of luxury. We look forward to returning one day. JB August 2008
We were really pleased with the Villa overall and would happily stay there again. The location is good and the description you gave us was accurate. M&NC August 2008
We all felt really sad to leave! We had a marvellous holiday and thought that your villa was really excellent. We have had many wonderful villa holidays in different parts of the world and we all felt that Villa Barinak compared extremely well with previous experiences.. There was nothing that we could fault - you really have thought of everything to make the holiday relaxing and comfortable! We really loved all the different areas to sit outside and the beautiful plants, trees and flowers you have so tastefully arranged. The balconies were a really good size and we had some lovely times relaxing on the ottoman roof terrace enjoying the views and the hot breezes. The position of the villa looking over the bays was stunning and we enjoyed the peaceful position on the edge of Kalkan. The pool was lovely to swim in and the water beautifully warm. All the rooms were a generous size and the beds very comfortable. Everything was impeccably clean and well maintained. We really appreciated the 'extras' that we would not normally expect such as the water dispenser and supply of loo paper! Also the food on arrival. We cannot speak highly enough of Omer,Fadime, Ramazan and Muhterem. They were pleasant, courteous and friendly. Omer was wonderful and we felt really well looked after. He was so helpful, attentive and kind. He booked us tables at several restaurants and we always got the best ones! One day when I told Omer that our daughter was staying at the villa on her own, he went to check that she was OK at least twice, which was very kind. The staff worked hard around the villa cleaning, sweeping outside and watering the plants constantly. This was our first time in Turkey and we thought that Kalkan was really beautiful and magical at night. The Turkish people were lovely Everybody in the shops and restaurants was friendly and polite and the service excellent. We found the food marvellous and enjoyed every meal. The rooftop terraces were absolutely magical! We ate at The Ivy, Ibo, Sofra (fantastic jazz singer and guitarist), Korsan Fish Terrace and Ciflik Trout Restaurant. Ciflik was a wonderful experience. What a setting, and such a delightful family. The four sons were so sweet. The eldest boy served us our delicious meal and his attentiveness and eagerness to please were touching. We shopped for fresh food at Kas market and really enjoyed the authentic atmosphere there. We loved Patara - the Roman site and the beach and loved Kaputas cove. We loved walking in Saklikent Gorge and made it to the waterfall with a lot of help from a Turkish student/guide who took us (well my sister and me) under his wing! My husband is a keen climber, so coped fine! We thought the hills and mountains just inland were really beautiful and drove to Bezirgan. We loved the village and the contrast with Kalkan. Sorry if I've gone on too long! I could write far more! You may have guessed by now that we would have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending your villa, Kalkan and Turkey to friends and family. In fact we have already told our neighbours all about it! GG July 2008
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Barinak - I think we all agreed that it was the most relaxing holiday we've ever had! The villa itself is gorgeous, with everything we needed (and more!). The memory of sitting on the roof terrace with a glass of wine, drinking in those magnificent views will certainly stay with us. Omer couldn't have been more helpful - he even took one of us into Kalkan on his bike. The cleaners were also excellent. We would love to return next year. PH July 2008
Just a quick note to say that we had a fantastic time. The villa was amazing, just the sort of place we like, and we really enjoyed wandering around Kalkan. Omar was really helpful and we felt "at home". One point for your info is that the shop at the bottom of the hill is closed for refurbishment, but the Cafe Villa a few yards in the other direction is very good especially for breakfast. PF June 2008
We tried some of your recommendations and the best by far was the Ciflik trout farm up in the mountains. The best fish we have ever had. We decided to hire a car and found this to be the best option for getting out and about. saved us a lot of money as we did the tours without the tour operator prices. The boat trip to the sunken city was amazing and only 80ytl for over 4 hours on the boat for 6 people. As was the trip to Saklikent Gorge. My wife found her favourite coffee house, Cafe del Mar, just down by the Ivy restaurant, the home made cakes were excellent. She has also managed to buy most of the stock from the Thursday Market and I believe we will have Turkish cushions , table cloth, etc very soon. Overall a fantastic couple of weeks and we would gladly recommend both your villa and Kalkan to all. MF May 2008
I would just like to thank you for the perfect management of everything which you have done for us. The villa and its facilities were beyond my expectations and we have really enjoyed it there. All the things were very well organized and the Villa stuff especially. Omer was so friendly and helpful. Thanks again. NS May 2008
We had a fabulous week at the villa. The villa is beautiful, well designed and tastefully furnished. Everything about it was perfect, one of the best we have stayed in. Kalkan itself is perfect too, with plenty of restaurants and shops. KW April 2008
The villa was amazing, it had all the facilites one expected. The kids really enjoyed having there own space. Omer was lovely and kept us well informed. The views of the bay were 'beautiful', theres no negative in the stay in villa Barinak completly chilled and relaxed and the weather was good in comparison to uk! AA April 2008
We had a lovely time, the house was beautiful, and after Dhaka we especially appreciated the peace and quiet as well as the stunning views. The house was much bigger than we had imagined it to be, spotlessly clean and had all the comforts of home – in fact you had more gadgets that we have at home!. We really appreciated the food that had been left for us on arrival which made the first morning much easier – thank you for this – a nice thought. The access road was too steep for my mother, but we had been warned about that in advance. As it was the taxis were plentiful – we could have also hired a car which would have worked out cheaper if we'd been doing more than one trip each day. This is the first time we'd done a self catering holiday as a family, with the small kids we found that staying in hotels was just too stressful, being cramped into the one room and tied into meal times, only being able to eat in restaurants and being surrounded by other guests all the time. The experiment worked well, everyone really appreciated having space and flexibility- the house was extremely well equipped and had everything that we needed for the kids meaning that we didn't have to bring stuff with us. Omer was extremely good and efficient, he came to see us every day to make sure things were Ok and was able to sort out any problems quickly. The car hire firm was also very good. We took a day trip to explore the surroundings which was a really memorable day out – so much to see in so close by. The weather was a bit cold the first couple of days, but the A/C is also a heater & soon makes it warm up (and cool down in the last couple of days when it was baking hot). All in all we had a great relaxing week in beautiful surroundings, many thanks for giving the opportunity to visit your lovely house. PA March 2008
Having watched the dvd (many times!!) of Villa Barinak and having spoken to various people who had visited the Kalkan area of Turkey, we knew that we were in for a treat. However, nothing could have fully prepared us for the stunning views that the sumptuous Villa Barinak had to offer. On our arrival at Villa Barinak, we were greeted warmly and presented with gifts of Pashminas which was such a thoughtful gesture. Omer was ever helpful, guiding us on many aspects of Kalkan life, such as always carry your driving license when driving and suggesting where to watch England play in the Rugby World Cup! As we explored the Villa for the first time, I wish someone could have captured the looks on our faces, especially when we reached the 2nd floor and the Ottaman area. By this time (approx 9am) we really were all fairly shattered and when we saw the cushions, we looked at each other and simply crumpled onto them. What a fantastic place to be tired though and however much in need we were of some sleep, there was no way any of us were going to sleep when we could lie out there gazing at the sea, the mountains, the blue sky, the sun (what more could you need?) We had lazy days where the children happily enjoyed the pools (those of the Villa and the apartments next door) while we simply enjoyed life in the slow lane. When we were feeling energetic (!) we wondered into Kalkan and watched the fishermen catching that night’s dinner and watched in awe as men on boats happily spent their time playing backgammon and chatting to each other with not a P.C., i-pod or mobile phone in sight. We ate out a few times; lunch at Paper Moon on our first day was very tasty and such fresh ingredients were obvious. Visits to The Jasmine Restaurant (welcomed by ‘Mr Happy’, as he introduced himself to the children and who was a real character) and Akin Restaurant were both very enjoyable. The children were always most welcome and at the Akin restaurant, our Turkish waiter entertained the children with his magic tricks. When we told him we were from Yorkshire, his swift response was simply ‘Ee by gum.’ Our favourite restaurant was the Alternatif where we ate a couple of times and enjoyed superb meze starters as well as delicious aubergine dishes, lamb kebabs and samosas. It was here too that our waiter was happy to showcase his traditional Turkish dancing and even persuaded one of the children to join in too. After our first meal here we were presented with pieces of Turkish Delight to sample. Initially, none of us were too keen, having sampled the unsavoury delights of Fry’s Turkish Delight in the past. How wrong could we have been! This stuff was the real thing, just divine and devoured by all. After our last visit we were promised some to take home and were astounded when we were presented with six boxes. The Kalkan folk really are so warm and generous. We made visits to Patara Beach and took in the awesome Roman ruins (good to mention at school as Year 4 currently in the middle of The Romans topic!) This beach was my favourite, warm safe sea and miles of deserted spotless sand – stunning! Kaputas Beach was also very popular with our party, the boys didn’t mind counting the 180 steps down (or back up for that matter!) and we loved the fact that when we arrived, so did a wedding party. The bride and groom had apparently been married the night before in Kalkan, but wanted to take in the sunset at Kaputas Beach with some of their family/friends, so while their guests played on drums and horns, they gazed out to sea and we all said lots of ‘Aaaaahhh’s’. The sea here was a little rougher, but I could forgive it because it was such a gorgeous turquoise blue, just like in the pictures. We also spent many hours on the pebble beach at Kalkan, where the sea was as clear as tap water. The boys loved practising their stone skimming skills here, I think the record was 8. When we weren’t eating out or checking out the beaches, we went shopping for Apple Tea, Evil Eye souvenirs and hand painted ceramics. Us ladies treated ourselves to a Turkish massage at the Elixir Hotel which was very invigorating and the men had a decent shave courtesy of a very sharp knife and a steady hand at the barber’s shop near the roundabout (near/opposite Breeze Restaurant) Villa Barinak is equipped with so much more than you would normally expect on holiday. We found the water cooler a very welcome extra (and that was in October!) and the kitchen was so well equipped with crockery that even after a couple of meals and a filling –up dishwasher, we still found plates, cups and glasses in the cupboard. Speaking as someone who doesn’t sleep very well generally, I felt I had to mention the beds, they were just so comfortable that I slept like a baby the whole week (and no I wasn’t pie-eyed on Raki!!) The quality of the traditional furnishings and materials in the Villa is apparent and yet the Villa remains cosy and stylish and extremely welcoming. Temperatures were around 25 or 26 degrees while we were there and whilst we didn’t need to use the air conditioning, we never felt any extremes of temperature in the Villa, we were always ‘just right’. We always felt safe and secure in the Villa and having Omer close by to answer any questions was a bonus. Both he and the maid who made our beds every day were polite and friendly and made our stay even more relaxing as we knew that everything was taken care of. I honestly can not think of anything else that you would need. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Turkey and I feel almost ashamed to admit that Turkey was not somewhere that had ever appealed to me, although I don’t even know why I thought that!! As I always say to the children ‘Try it, you might just like it’ – but we loved it, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to experience a wonderful and enchanting corner of the world. We would happily recommend Villa Barinak so that others too can share the delights of Kalkan. KJ October 2007
Returned last night from another glorious stay in your gorgeous villa. Can honestly say we can't fault it - so many comforts - a real home from home and just the perfect rest we needed. Loved the new ottoman area - wonderful sipping our g & t's in the evening gazing out to sea, before strolling down to Kalkan - only stress was deciding where to eat - it's a tough life on holiday! Omar and team were as helpful as ever and Fatima even made our bed each day, bless her. It was hard to leave - a week is just not long enough - we always plan to do so much more - time flies when you're having fun - just chilling and truly enjoying life. What a relief - no mossies this time. Only got one bite but that was in Kas! RH October 2007
We had the most relaxing holiday ever thanks to the wonderful facilities at Villa Barinak, Sue has provided even more to make your holiday perfect, the outdoor fan above the table was another surprise and very welcome, and we just enjoyed every minute relaxing by the pool knowing we didn't need to 'escape' to the air-con when it got too hot for us, you can't fail to chill out here! We went to the Ivy (twice) on Sue's recommendation and the food was very good, also the live Turkish music on our last visit. Omer was so helpful, nothing we asked of him was too much trouble and we will miss him. Not forgetting Fatima who kept the villa spotless, as in the previous review we also had our bed made every day, not expecting her to do it but very grateful. Villa Barinak is certainly the place to escape to if you're looking for that perfect holiday home, we will miss it and hope to return soon. Thank you Sue for allowing us to share your wonderful villa. J&P Sept/Oct 2007
As you arrive at the villa gates, the first thing you notice is the spectacular view. The warm sunshine shimmering down over the blue sea, it really does take your breath away. The villa itself is very attractive and well kept. The front of the villa has a beautiful swimming pool, surrounded by attractive greenery which leads onto the patio with plenty of sun loungers and a good sized dining table and chairs. I especially liked the fact that when you were sunbathing or using the swimming pool, there was never any anxiousness about being seen, as the greenery was perfectly placed to make sure no one could see into the villa’s surroundings.
The décor within the villa is warm and inviting, with lots of helpful extras such as a water cooler, blender, CD player, etc. Each of the rooms is kept to a very high standard and also includes its own veranda. The third floor also includes a personal retreat, which is much bigger than the rest and has lots of cushions and candles laid out, making it a perfect place to sit back, relax and watch the enchanting Turkish sunset.
Also included was our own maid, who came every morning. Literally around the corner of the villa was our own personal concierge, who was on hand around the clock to take care of any of our needs. He was courteous and welcoming to everyone through the holiday.
At night time, the streets light up and it’s always a good idea to head into town, which is only a short walking distance away. I always preferred walking, as it was a good chance to see more scenery and feel the beautiful warm breeze. When you arrive at the heart of the town, the energy is electric, with lots of locals buzzing around in scooters, and people yelling hello at each other from the other side of the street. You almost feel like everyone knows each other. There is an amazing array of shops and restaurants, many of whom are recommended to you at the villa.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. I was in beautiful surroundings, I had amazing food, and I think I can safely say that I shall be back again very soon. D H Sept 2007
Your villa is very well equipped and we did not want for anything while we were there. We did not hire a car as we used the taxi service or walked into town. We also used the free services to the beach clubs. It was windy during the last 5 days so we appreciated the sheltered position of your pool. We ate out every night so did not use the bbq at all. Only had occasion to use the oven once (what I call a holiday)! We did come back to the villa after evenings out and watch several of your well stocked dvd collection. We got through many books between us and left 7 in the villa. LL September 2007
We had a lovely time - forgot to write in the book but everything was lovely. The villa is great and roof terrace was a lovely extra. Omer was extremely helpful and it was really nice to have the place spruced up each day. Thanks very much for use of the lovely holiday villa - we had a super time! WP August 2007
This is our second time at Villa Barinak. The villa is superb and with two young boys the pool is a godsend. The overall feel and fitting out of the villa is great and we would highly recommend it. Kalkan is a beautiful place and has some very high quality restaurants. I personally would recommend the cut throat shave and head massage. The on site manager Omer is a real help and is always there for any issues no matter how small. Highly recommended and Sue is a pleasure to deal with. DM July 2007
We had a great time; the villa was excellent. We hired a villa last year in Kalkan and I have to say that this year we were overwhelmed with how professional and easy the whole experience was. Omer was great; he made our stay so easy. He could not do enough for us. You seem to have thought of everything your guests may require. We thank you for a lovely holiday. GH July 2007
The villa was everything we had hoped for - very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped. Drinking water on tap from the water cooler was a real boon and the local mobile most useful. A sundowner (or two) on the ottoman cushions was a great way to end the day and the pashmina gift was much appreciated, and was another example of the extra care you have taken towards looking after your guests. We took a party of four to the Ivy and Ziya was delighted when we told him we had gone on your recommendation. He spoke very warmly about the loyal support you have given him over the years and promptly served us with a wonderful plate of prepared fruit on the house! It is that type of thing that makes Kalkan what it is. We genuinely have no criticisms and our only regret was we only booked for a week. SD June 2007
How can we describe Villa Barinak? Certainly not in a few words, we knew it would be special from the website and also the c-rom, but when we actually arrived it was absolutely stunning! Everything you could possibly wish for and more, the villa itself is so beautiful, every room is spacious and very comfortable. Sue has thought of everything anyone could ever need on holiday and more besides, huge comfortable beds, sunloungers, and the Ottoman area is very peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you could possibly need, and the water cooler is a great idea, in fact I cannot praise Villa Barinak enough, just go there and experience it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. We even took the plunge in the pool, as the weather got hotter it was most welcome, we certainly needed those huge parasols at times! We also used the barbeque, having bought our lamb chops, spicy chicken wings and kofte from the local butcher, we even took great delight in watching a butcher at work! Kalkan will always be our favourite holiday destination, lovely warm hearted people who cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble for them. The restaurants are so good, from the very basic to the more expensive, we have our favourites but try to find new ones. This time we actually found the Doy Doy, we knew it was somewhere and never found it but this year it has been extended, it was hidden by a carpet shop in previous years but now you can easily see it on the road above the harbour, we went there three times, the food was really delicious. Kaya restaurant is still one of our special places to eat, the lamb shanks (order the previous day), grouper and tuna steaks are so...... good! We've all put on quite a few kilos but well worth it. We are really looking forward to our return to Kalkan later this year, and especially Villa Barinak, Omer and the staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful, we can't wait to see all the plants and flowers that the villa has in full bloom. I could go on and on, but if you are thinking about a villa holiday, please do try Villa Barinak, we can honestly say it is superb. J&P May 2007
It's a lovely villa and the boys really appreciated the swimming pool - consequently so did we. We must confess we let the boys watch TV, so the multi-lingual satellite service was also appreciated. The local people were all very welcoming. Omer and the lady who came in to clean could not have been more helpful. Not hiring a car was false economy and although Kalkan is a nice town, we would have liked to visit nearby villages and see more of the coast. P S, October 2006
We had a really excellent holiday. Based on your website descriptions/photos, and other people's comments, we had very high expectations. The villa easily met/exceeded them. It was even more spacious and comfortable than we expected. The bed was bigger. The showers, air conditioning and the large parasols were all the best I've come across on holiday. Even the car hire was better than expected. On being offered a credit card, he said bring it along to the Kalkan office sometime! Just dropping it off at departures was great. We'd heartily recommend Villa Barinak. JL, October 2006.
We had another lovely holiday in Kalkan - now our 4th visit and the best yet, thanks to your gorgeous villa. The standard of comfort was superb and had everything we could think of plus more. Can't recommend it highly enough and hope to return again very soon. Only worry now is that we will never be able to visit ALL those wonderful restaurants that Kalkan has to offer. Thanks for allowing us to use your beautiful home in Turkey. What can I say about our holiday? WOW comes immediately to mind. No one word can sum up the last 2 weeks, so how about I use a few????? The villa is an absolutely beautiful haven in what has to be one of the best resorts in Turkey. Whatever you want to do, Kalkan has it all - shopping, fantastic beaches, out of this world restaurants, beach clubs, water sports. After a hard (or even not so hard) day, there is nothing better than returning to this beautiful villa for some tranquility, mixed with some mayhem in the pool (especially with our 8 year old son). The villa itself is FAB!!!!! It has everything too -view, pool, location and every home comfort anyone could want. The only sad part about the holiday was having to leave and come home. On a final note, to anyone viewing this website now (as I did last year), and having narrowed your choice of villa to 2 or 3, including Villa Barinak. BOOK IT NOW!!!!!! You cannot be disappointed. P D, Cramlington. August 2006
Just a short note to say how much we have enjoyed ourselves here. Everything has been perfect: the weather, food, people and of course your lovely villa. Thank you so much for letting us use it. We are sad to go but hope very much to come back again. The boys are going to be very disappointed not to be able to swim every day! Thank you again. D M, Oxon. July 2006
We were all really thrilled with the villa - very spacious and well equipped with beautiful views over Kalkan bay from every balcony. We especially liked relaxing in the Ottoman area in the evenings, and had some really nice barbeques by the pool. Kalkan itself was a very friendly place, with lots of lovely roof top restaurants to eat in. We enjoyed the local food 'koftes' a lot! We also had fun at the beach clubs doing lots of watersports during the week. I have to say that the pictures on the website don't do it justice though! Thanks so much - we did have a really amazing time there. L D, London. July 2006
The holiday was a complete success. The villa was superb; it exceeded our expectations. We appreciated the well appointed kitchen and used the washing machine almost every day. The children appreciated the DVD player. My 4 year old granddaughter almost learnt to swim in the time we were there. We found all those working in the local shop were very friendly and helpful, and we always called in there for a chat on the way back from town. Most of the locals spoke to the children as we passed and many shopkeepers insisted on giving them little presents. We found Enes Cars very helpful. They were quite happy for us to pay the whole amount the day before we left, in a combination of local currency, sterling and Visa! We had a people carrier and went to the nearby beach and Kas. We also went to Myra and the gorge at Saklikent. The coast road provides a spectacular drive. One day we hired a boat from the harbour for a day. The hire included meals & snacks, and there was plenty of both, well prepared and delicious. We swam in the sea off the boat and my son-in-law borrowed some fishing tackle from the owner and caught three small fish. We had frequent barbecues at the villa and always ate outside. Thank you for providing us with such a comfortable facility; I hope all your guests appreciate it as much as we did. GS, Camberley, May 2006
A beautiful villa in a lovely town, friendly locals and great food - a great place for a break. CB, Wokingham, April 2006
I was a guest at Villa Barinak just before Easter, for the eclipse, and had the most wonderful time. It is a beautiful place, the villa is absolutely gorgeous and I loved Kalken too. I am very keen to visit again next year. RD, E. Sussex, March 2006 (Has since booked for 2007)
Just to say the villa was excellent. We loved the layout and the way it was decorated, and the facilities were also great. All the people who help run the villa complex were great as well. There's not really anything we could fault with the villa and Kalkan - it'd be good to go back in the future. GC, Oxford, March 2006
We had a wonderful holiday, thank you. The villa more than matched our expectations. It is quite superb and spacious. The support staff were very warm, friendly and helpful. The views of the bays and the rising and setting sun were magical and will ever be imprinted in our memories. This was my first visit to Turkey and it will not be the last. The car transfers were top class. The Turkish people were very warm and friendly and we enjoyed a lot of friendly banter. Needless to say, restaurant service was always attentive. Thank you for providing us with a most memorable and enjoyable holiday. P R, Norwich. October 2005
Your villa is superb, the accommodation suited us down to the ground. All the small little extras really made a difference. Your maid was fantastic and made a real fuss of our kids expecially the baby. Transfers were also excellent. And Kalkan itself is absolutely wonderful. The kids loved the pool and kept themselves entertained for hours which made our holiday all the more enjoyable. Thank you very much, we have just had one of our best family holidays ever: a credit to you and your team over there, and we will be recommending you to family and friends, and hope to return ourselves one day soon. Barriball family September 2005
We all had a wonderful holiday. Villa Barinak is in a perfect location and beautifully kitted out. Kalkan is stunning and has an amazing collection of wonderful restaurants - never experienced a bad meal. We fell in love with the world famous Patara beach and visited regularly. Had some good excursions with Lycian Club based in Kalkan. Definitely return again to continue all we didn't manage to do and to eat in all the other many restaurants. Thanks Susan Franks family August 2005
Kalkan and the Villa were even better than we had built ourselves up to believe from the website description and images. Turkey and Kalkan in particular were far more beautiful and friendly than we had dared hope for and as a parent of 3 children it was extremely refreshing to quickly work out that they were safe and happy to be given responsibility to roam around the small village on their own without any worries. As for the Villa itself it has the BEST location possible within Kalkan demanding wonderful views and comforting breezes (from being high above the village) that our stay could only be described as refreshingly relaxing and tranquil. The luxuries offered by the Villa cannot be described adequately enough, there was nothing more that we could have wanted and the on site staff did everything and more to make our stay pleasurable and enjoyable. My family cannot stop reminiscing about our unforgetable stay and we cannot wait to go back! You will not regret holidaying in Kalkan and this particular Villa in general. AH, Belgium, June 2005
Both the Villa and the friendly resort of Kalkan surpassed all expectations. The villa was extremely comfortable and well sited with pleasant views over both small bays. Ideally positioned with a fifteen minute stroll to the village with its excellent choice of restaurants. A true Turkish delight! **SW, West Yorkshire, June 2005
Whilst we expected our first visit to Kalkan and Villa Barinak in particular to be good, it was even better than that! Kalkan and its surroundings was a revelation. Eating out was first class, the main problem being which excellent roof-top restaurant to try next! The Turks are very friendly and speaking a little Turkish goes a long way. Villa Barinak is of an exceptional quality with a marvellous location. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again next year. TD, Ilkley, June 2005 (Booked for 2006)
